Motivational Interviewing for Groups
This course will provide participants with an opportunity to consider the potential impact of using Motivational Interviewing (MI) methods and activities in facilitating counseling groups. The course will:
• Explain how MI methods and activities can be effectively applied in facilitating counseling groups
• Describe how to utilize an MI approach to enhance client engagement and build motivation for change
• Practice using methods aimed at empowering group members to tackle life's challenges and strengthen a sense of personal self-efficacy.

Trauma Informed Care
Trauma Informed Care is a way of looking at patients with addictive behaviors through the lens of historical adversity. Trauma Informed Care helps providers and staff change their framework and mindset when patients have been impacted by simple and complex traumatic events. The course will:
• Help providers and staff be more psychologically prepared to work with complex patients
• Help for better understanding of assessment, diagnosis, referral, treatment and intervention
• Provide a better understanding of ineffective behaviors such as substance use, medical non-compliance and self-neglect
