Correspondence courses are available in CD and hard-copy. You need to download and print the information on the CD as it is not an interactive CD. Courses can be purchased by mail or you can come to our office and purchase courses. There is an additional $6 per course for shipping and handling for ALL correspondence courses that are mailed.
Correspondence courses can be purchased by sending a check or money order to RADACT at 3901 Old Seward Hwy, Suite 8, Anchorage, AK 99503. Be sure to indicate which course you are purchasing. If ordering a course for an employee, please also remember to give the name of the student who will be completing the course.

Motivational Interviewing focuses on the principles of motivational interviewing and the Stages of Change model by DiClemente and Prochaska.

Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS
Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS focuses on hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, TB, HIV, and other infectious diseases that might impact clients receiving services.

Confidentiality
Confidentiality will provide an overview of the Federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164 and the implications for behavioral health programs.

Psycho-Physiology
Psycho-Physiology will provide information about the brain-body connection, the nervous system structure, neuroanatomy, neurotransmitter and receptor function. The course will also discuss various drugs and their effects.

Alaska History of Chemical Dependency
Alaska History of Chemical Dependency provides an overview of both the history of Alaska and the introduction, use, and control of alcohol and other drugs from the time of first contact by Vitus Bering in 1742.

Crisis Intervention
Crisis Intervention will provide the foundational and practice information on general crisis events. It will focus on crisis responses such as depression, grief, relapse, and increased shame, loss of motivation and self-esteem, and isolating. The course will also address suicide ideation, intervention, evaluation and follow-up.

Working with Diverse Populations
Working with Diverse Populations will cover the interactive process between cultural diversity and chemical dependency. The following areas will be discussed: ethnicity, immigrants and refuges, women, disabilities, older adults, sexual orientation, adolescents, homeless populations, and comobility of alcohol and psychiatric problems.
