Correspondence Learning
Correspondence courses are available in CD and hard-copy. You need to download and print the information on the CD as it is not an interactive CD. Courses can be purchased by mail or you can come to our office and purchase courses. There is an additional $6 per course for shipping and handling for ALL correspondence courses that are mailed.
Correspondence courses can be purchased by sending a check or money order to RADACT at 3901 Old Seward Hwy, Suite 8, Anchorage, AK 99503. Be sure to indicate which course you are purchasing. If ordering a course for an employee, please also remember to give the name of the student who will be completing the course.

Ethics for BeginnersThis course will assist students in understanding the ethical obligations of a professional in relation to the NAADAC Code of Ethics. The course is designed for those who have never had an ethics course before. |

Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDSThis course focuses on hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, TP, HIV, and other infectious diseases that might impact clients receiving services. |

ConfidentialityThis course will provide an overview of the Federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA), 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164, Subparts A and E, and the implications for behavioral health programs. |

Psycho-PhysiologyThis course will provide information about the brain-body connection, the nervous system structure, neuroanatomy, neurotransmitter and receptor function. The course will also discuss various drugs and their effects. |

Alaska History of Chemical DependencyThis course provides an overview of both the history of Alaska and the introduction, use, and control of alcohol and other drugs from the time of first contact by Vitus Bering in 1742 to the present. |

Introduction to Addictive BehaviorThis course provides an overview of the problems and consequences of substance abuse, the importance and effectiveness of assessment procedures, and current treatment modalities, as well as issues related to productive treatment programming. On January 1, 2011, "Introduction to Addictive Behavior" was revised. After 5/24/2011, we will not longer be accepting the older version CD. When you purchase the new CD (plus shipping charge), you can then pay for the course as it is used by each student without shipping charges, just as RADACT has done in the past. |

Substance Abuse Treatment for Persons with HIV/AIDSThis course provides detailed information on the HIV virus that causes AIDS, how it is spread, prevention, treatment, and counseling people with HIV and Substance Abuse Disorders. Required text is included. |

Working with Diverse PopulationsThis course will cover the interactive process between cultural diversity and chemical dependency. Introduction to Group CounselingThis course is to help counselors expand their awareness and comprehension of dynamics that might be going on in their current substance abuse treatment groups. These insights will help counselors become better prepared to manage their groups and their individual members, and improve retention by appropriately acknowledging issues that are outside the scope of the group.
